PNC sponsors Cleveland Zoological Society membership program

Posted: February 01, 2018

The Cleveland Zoological Society is thrilled to announce a presenting sponsorship for its membership program. The Zoo Society is the nonprofit partner of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and runs the Zoo’s membership program, which is the largest in Northeast Ohio.

“Supporting the Zoo Society is an investment in Cleveland,” said Cleveland Zoological Society Executive Director Liz Fowler. “We are grateful to PNC for its generous and forward-thinking sponsorship. We look forward to driving even greater value and impact for the community and for the savvy members who make the Zoo their top choice.”

PNC and the Zoo Society have enjoyed a long partnership. PNC has supported the Zoo’s educational programming through PNC Grow Up Great, a $350 million bilingual initiative to help prepare children from birth to age five for success in school and life, as well as contributions to capital improvement projects throughout the Zoo campus. The membership sponsorship is a two-year commitment.

Founded in 1957, the Cleveland Zoological Society and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo share a joint mission: We create compelling experiences that connect people with wildlife and inspire personal responsibility for conserving the natural world. The Zoo Society is committed to raising public awareness of the Zoo as a community priority and civic asset, securing private support for the Zoo and its program, and giving members and donors great value for their investment.

About the Zoo Society’s membership program:

  • More than 40,000 current household members, totalling more than 250,000 individuals
  • More than 1.1 million people visit the Zoo each year, and members account for 30% of annual visits
  • 60% of members have children on their membership
  • Membership accounts for $3 million in revenue annually

Zoo members receive unlimited admission to the Zoo and The RainForest 363 days a year, discounts on select Zoo events and activities, discounted admission to zoos around the nation and more.
