Andrea is a vibrant champion for the Zoo – she can’t imagine being anywhere else after falling in love with it in 2017. She refers to the relationships forged here as “magic” and the community as “family." Though she has a solid background in the nonprofit world, she feels as if she grew up at the Zoo, progressing from her early career to a position of leadership and building her own family along the way.
Favorite animal: "Right now, sloth bears."
Favorite spot at the Zoo: Susie’s Bear Hollow
Dream wildlife travel destination: India to see sloth bears and tigers
Andrea thinks Northeast Ohio is the perfect place. She has spent time in many other places – North Carolina, Colombia, London, and Tokyo to name a few – but Cleveland is home. Her family of four explores all over on the weekends, never missing a stop at Koko Bakery and frequenting the city’s many cultural institutions.
Her passion for the Zoo is contagious, and she is always sharing a new story or discovery about the Zoo with genuine enthusiasm. Andrea leads the Zoo Society’s Advancement team with humanity and aplomb, and takes joy in cultivating meaningful relationships with its generous donors.
