Lou has worked at the Zoo in several capacities, starting with Guest Services when he was 16. He did a stint in the Cleveland Metroparks’ golf courses before returning to the Zoo and found his way to the Zoo Society team in 2022. His long history with the Zoo makes him a solid resource for our members and guests – it doesn’t hurt that he’s a supremely nice guy, either.
Favorite animal: Tigers
Favorite spot at the Zoo: Ben Gogolick Giraffe Encounter
Dream wildlife travel destination: a true African safari to see lions, giraffe, and rhinos
He enjoys working with members because they’re consistently excited to be here - “Even members who are here every day, it’s always a different adventure.” Lou says he always thought the Zoo was a cool place for people to spend their day, offering both education and entertainment, and growing up in Garfield Heights, he visited a couple times a year with his family.
Now, Lou is excited to bring his baby boy to the Zoo and see it through another new lens. While most of his free time is dedicated to fatherhood these days, Lou also likes to play basketball and golf and support all things Cleveland.
