Annual giving program provides needed support.
It’s been a difficult year for many, with COVID-19 forcing us to change many aspects of our lives. The Zoo has been no exception. From a three-month closure in the spring to financial loss throughout the year due to capacity restrictions, the need to support your Zoo is greater than ever.
The end of the year can be a smart time to make a gift, especially to nonprofits like the Zoo Society. Consider giving $1,000 in annual support to become a member of The Pride. The Pride provides unrestricted operating support, and donations can be divided into recurring monthly payments.
Over the past few decades, annual giving donors have provided more than $9 million in unrestricted support to the Cleveland Zoological Society and have helped us remain a strong partner and advocate for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
The Pride includes many ways to engage donors giving $1,000 or more annually in the mission of the Zoo. Though not a membership program, donors to The Pride enjoy a full year of donor admission to the Zoo. Pride donors are assigned a staff liaison to help plan Zoo visits and to customize each donor’s experience with unique stewardship opportunities throughout the year.
All donations made to The Pride are 100% tax-deductible and support the Zoo Society’s annual fund, which allows your Zoo to thrive, grow and evolve. From creating a joyful summer day experience for more than 1 million guests a year, to educational programming for children, to efforts to secure a future for wildlife around the globe, the Zoo needs your support.
Gifts to The Pride help support:
- A focus on all aspects of animal care — from the food the animals eat to innovative research that informs future management practices
- Introducing students to inquiry-based science that captures their imaginations and encourages exploration and innovation
- Educating and inspiring guests on how animals they see in their communities are ambassadors for those in the wild
