A true philanthropy professional, Nicole is fascinated by all things nonprofit, from board structure to strategic planning to employee retention. After a brief stint in the corporate realm, she found her niche in the nonprofit world and was fortunate to find supportive mentors along the way.
Favorite animal: "It changes! Currently, gorillas."
Favorite spot at the Zoo: Australian Adventure – she loves the strong theming.
Dream wildlife travel destination: Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is already checked off the list! Next, she’s excited to explore Tanzania.
Now leading the charge on Primate Forest, Nicole spends her days living and breathing the largest capital campaign in the Zoo’s history and keeps a neat little collection of hard hats in her office. The ‘why’ behind it drives her forward - “There is always good reason for what we do,” she said. She enjoys the people side of mission work and thrives in the Zoo Society’s collaborative work environment.
She may be on a “romantasy” kick in her current reading, but she also loves historical fiction – and learning about world history. Otherwise, you can find her staying active in her free time, visiting local breweries, and planning her next trip – she gets anxious when she doesn’t have a travel adventure on the horizon.
