Meet the CZS Team: Tammy Johnson, Stewardship Coordinator| Cleveland Zoological Society

Tammy is the organizational mastermind behind our beloved golf cart tours and many of the meaningful Zoo experiences our donors enjoy. She loves working with Zoo staff from animal keepers to maintenance and horticulture, as well as docents, to coordinate events and programs. She is also a key contributor to the fantastic workplace culture she cites as a favorite aspect of her job!

Coming from a mostly for-profit background, Tammy’s professional trajectory brought her to the Zoo Society one magical Christmas Eve when a former coworker encouraged her to visit and apply for an open position. She had never been to the Zoo in the winter, and seeing it on a beautiful, snowy winter day was enough to convince her. Close to 12 years later, she still gets excited coming down Wildlife Way - “I still can’t believe I have keys to the Zoo.”

When she’s not keeping our fleet of golf carts in tip-top shape, Tammy is planning day trips around Ohio, exploring new restaurants and breweries, and spending time with friends. She loves animals of all kinds, from her pets to backyard wildlife (especially the squirrels).
